Saudi Arabia Jewellery Exposition (SAJEX) 2025 opens in Jeddah

SAJEX 2025 is the definitive B2B jewelry exhibition, bringing together the best jewelers, designers, manufacturers, and industry leaders from around the globe. More than 100 Indian jewelers traveled to Jeddah to participate in the inaugural Saudi Arabia Jewelry Exposition (SAJEX), as the industry looks to diversify export markets.

Jeddah is not only a vital commercial hub in Saudi Arabia but also an emerging cultural and tourism destination. Hosting an event like SAJEX 2025 attracted global tourists and investors, making it a significant moment for both the local economy and the tourism industry.

The Saudi Arabia Jewelry Exposition 2025 (SAJEX 2025) was inaugurated at the Jeddah Superdome, bringing together over 200 exhibitors from India and other nations to display fine jewelry, gemstones, and innovative designs. The event, organized by the Gem & Jewelry Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) in collaboration with the Consulate General of India in Jeddah and the Embassy of India in Riyadh, was supported by Invest Saudi and the Chambers of Commerce of Jeddah and Makkah. During his opening speech, GJEPC Chairman Shri KiritBhansali highlighted new opportunities for collaboration between India and Saudi Arabia in the gems and jewelry sector. Khalid Al Sheddi from the Ministry of Investment mentioned that SAJEX offers a timely platform to enhance trade and investment relations. Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan stressed the economic complementarities and the significance of the Strategic Partnership Council in strengthening bilateral ties. Indian Consul General Shri Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri underlined the expo’s role in promoting industry-to-industry partnerships. A message from Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal also expressed best wishes for the success of SAJEX 2025.

The exhibition will also showcase Saudi Arabia’s progress in becoming a key player in global trade and investment, particularly in sectors such as jewelry and luxury goods.

The influx of international buyers, industry experts, and media during the exhibition will bring an estimated rise in tourism. The event will introduce tourists to the beauty of Jeddah, its rich culture, and the growing business opportunities in Saudi Arabia. As a growing tourism market, the Kingdom’s tourism ministry sees such exhibitions as critical for supporting Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to diversify the country’s economy and increase its non-oil revenues.

GJEPC India launched SAJEX 2025, a three-day jewelry exhibition held at the Jeddah Superdome, in an effort to connect jewelry exports from India and other countries with Saudi buyers. Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is set to become a major destination for global jewellery tourism with the launch of SAJEX 2025. This significant event, ran from 11 to 13 September 2025,was being hosted by the Consulate General of India, Jeddah, in collaboration with the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India (GJEPC).

“We have a good scope to capture that market … We see Saudi as a very big market and a gateway to the markets in Africa,” Duggal said.  

“The Saudi market is opening up and it will be good for the local trade to network with our industry for growth prospects,” GJEPC chair KiritBhansali told Arab News, adding that his organization is hoping to develop SAJEX into the “gem and jewelry trading hub” of the Middle East.  

“We are looking at collaborations to explore the market. Saudi Arabia, with four billion dollars of jewelry demand, has the potential to double that in a very short time. Collaboration with leaders in gem and jewelry countries like India will help the Saudi industry too.” 

The Kingdom is a “very large market” for gems and jewelry, said Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. 

“From a (consumer) perspective, it is the largest market in the region. India is a leading exporter of gems and jewelry in the world, but currently India’s share in the Saudi market is modest,” he told Arab News. 

SAJEX will help connect India’s jewelers and designers with Saudi buyers. It will enhance trade and foster joint collaborations,” he continued. “Such partnerships strengthen the overall economic relationship between India and Saudi Arabia.

By collaborating with local tourism boards and government agencies, SAJEX 2025 is not only strengthening the global trade network but is also ensuring that Jeddah becomes a global destination for jewellery tourism. This strategic collaboration will promote Saudi Arabia as a top-tier destination for both business and leisure tourism.
